Kakava is the Hıdırellezi of Thrace. Hıdrellez is the belief that the prophets Hızır and İlyas met at the bottom of a rose tree, which is considered to be one of the important days in the Turkish world and is considered to be the harbinger of spring in Edirne; Kakava Festivals are celebrated for Roma people, with great preparations and eagerly awaited results throughout the year. A riot of colors occurs around Edirne's Gogo Cemetery. Kakava Fire is a joy show attended by tens of thousands of people in the Devil's Creek of Kırklareli. It is the enthusiasm of life, the joy of living. What makes Kakava so versatile and makes it an exciting entertainment is "those who consider the door squeak as a reason to play." Sharing Kakava, which means human, with the Roma people is a cultural synthesis, social reconciliation and solidarity.
